Fitting a rev counter

My Escort (1.6CL mk6)

Does not have a rev counter,

I've got another set of dials from scrappy with rev counter in, but from what i remember everything seems to be in a different place, ie oil light, handbrake light etc

Is it easy to do or not?

I really don't want to fit an aftermarket rev counter

Also where do I take the trigger for the rev counter? a wire off the coilpack?

Many thanks for any help!

doesn't matter mate, just swap the units over. theres a 15 pin plug on the back, so just plug it into your new one and away you go. if you have the wiring there it should work straight away, if not i think you take a wire to (pin 29???) on the ECU i think.

It's a 1998

So If I just plug it in the rest of it like lights etc should work fine, then I just need to get a wire from ECU pin 4 and does this go into the big connector (if so does anyone know which one for sure?) or does it go on the back of the unit itself?

When I say "I just need to get a wire from ECU pin 4 and does this go into the big connector (if so does anyone know which one for sure?)"

I mean does anyone know which pin to use within the big connector?
